Why test for Hydrogen Peroxide?

This test detects H2O2. For best results, run test immediately after collecting a fresh water sample. Hydrogen Peroxide is an oxidizer used in manufacturing, as a sanitizer in recreational waters and as an ingredient in disinfectant products. It is used in controlling microbial pests on crops, growing plants indoors and outdoors, and on certain crops after harvest. This active ingredient prevents and controls bacteria and fungi that cause serious plant diseases. Hydrogen Peroxide breaks down rapidly in the environment to oxygen and water, and is not expected to cause harmful effects to humans or the environment.
