PH AND TOTAL HARDNESS
pH is a measure of the acidic or basic property of water. Lower numbers indicate acids while higher numbers indicate bases. A pH result of 7 is Neutral. Results at 6.5 or less indicate that the water can be mildly corrosive to metal plumbing. Water pH levels above 8.5 may tend to leave deposits on fixtures, especially if the total hardness is also high.
FREE CHLORINE
"Free Chlorine" is the sanitizing agent used by most water treatment facilities in the USA, Chlorine treated water may have the characteristic swimming pool odor. Ideal Free Chlorine levels kill and neturalize all bacteria in the water
COPPER
Copper is not normally found in tap water. Formation in water occurs during corrosion of copper pipes. Copper can cause a greenish film to form on the sink or bathtub.
