High levels of contaminants found in New England groundwater

Posted by admin on Jul 3rd 2012

The US Geological Survey recently studied the groundwater in the New England regionand found harmful levels of naturally occurring arsenic, uranium, radon, and other contaminants in water supplying wells across the region. “The real risk comes from long-term exposure,” said Andrew Smith, state toxicologist at the Center for Disease Control in Maine, where about half the population relies on private wells for water, a higher share than any other state. They found 1 in 10 wells in Maine have arsenic levels that exceed federal standards.

Concerned residents can contact a local representative to have their well water tested OR do testing at home using one of our fast, safe and easy Arsenic test kits.
